Parkside Resort Pigeon Forge Wedding Venue Guide & Real Wedding Inspiration
If you’re dreaming of a wedding weekend tucked into the Smoky Mountains where your guests can stay together, the views feel endless, and your wedding day feels intentional instead of rushed. Then a Parkside Resort Pigeon Forge wedding might be exactly what you’re looking for! MaKayla and Austin’s February wedding was the perfect example of how magical a mountain wedding weekend can feel. They had cozy cabins filled with family and friends, emotional moments throughout the day, and sunset bridals overlooking the Smokies at Foothills Parkway.
From getting ready with their favorite people to dancing the night away at the resort. Their wedding day felt relaxed, meaningful, and completely centered around the experience they wanted to create together. And honestly? That’s one of the reasons I love photographing weddings at Parkside Resort so much.
Why Couples Love Having a Parkside Resort Pigeon Forge Wedding
One of the biggest reasons couples choose Parkside Resort for their wedding is because it offers so much more than just a ceremony space. It truly creates an entire wedding weekend experience. Instead of guests driving between hotels, venues, and cabins all weekend long, everyone can stay together right at the resort. It gives couples the chance to slow down and actually spend quality time with the people they love most, which is perfect for my couples planning a destination wedding in Gatlinburg!
For destination weddings in the Smokies, convenience matters. Parkside Resort makes it easy while still feeling elevated and scenic. You get beautiful mountain views, multiple venue options, luxury cabin accommodations, and easy access to some of the best portrait locations in East Tennessee.
It’s especially perfect for couples who want:
A full wedding weekend instead of just one day
A mountain wedding without sacrificing comfort
Lodging and venue options all in one place
Space for both intimate weddings and larger celebrations
Gorgeous Smoky Mountain backdrops everywhere you turn
Parkside Resort Wedding Venues
One thing that makes Parkside Resort stand out from other Pigeon Forge wedding venues is the variety of venue spaces available throughout the property. Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony or a large celebration with all your family and friends, there’s a space that fits the vision. Let’s dive into each of the five venues!
Parkside Pavilion
This Pavillion is tucked into the woods and lacks grand Smoky Mountain views. However, because of the seclusion of the woods, this venue feels more intimate. Making it is a great option for a rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour or even late night dancing outside. In addition, he lawn surrounding the pavilion works well for outdoor games like corn hole or giant janga.
Sky View Pavilion
This is the venue that Makayla and Austin chose to get married in, and is one of my personal favorites on the Resort’s property. The Sky View Pavilion has a unique design that allows you to choose between open or closed walls, featuring glass garage doors on the sides of the pavilion. You can also open the custom wood doors on the far end of the pavilion for the most perfect view of the Smoky Mountains over the tree line. In addition, this location can accommodate up to 70 guests, and can be flipped to accommodate both a ceremony and reception.
The Banquet Room
Looking for an indoor space? Parkside Resort has a venue for that! The Banquet Room is a large indoor cabin perfect for rehearsal dinners or receptions. It can hold up to 100 guests, features a built in dance floor and has countless amenities to help your day run smoothly. These include private restrooms for your event, a built-in bar top, large refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, tables, linens and so much more!
Mountain View Falls (Venue 1163)
This venue inside the resort is breathtaking, intimate and the picture-perfect setting for a Gatlinburg wedding! Nestled into the lush woods of the Smokies, this venue exudes the beauty of the Smoky Mountain National Park. It is the largest venue on site, accommodating up to 80 guests, the only venue with a bridal suite, and features whimsical touches such as the white carriage and winding path. In addition to the outdoor ceremony space you can host your reception in the corresponding cabin.
Smoky Mountain Pavilion
Make the most of Parkside Resort with a venue that can host your and your wedding party for an entire weekend! This is the newest addition to the resort and is designed to host you for your cermony, reception and the start of an unforgettable honeymoon in the Smokies. In addition, you can house your bridal party and guests in their Smoky Mountain Lodge and Rocky Top Lodge, totaling 21 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms.
MaKayla & Austin’s February Wedding Day
MaKayla and Austin’s wedding day felt incredibly intentional from beginning to end. Since we had nine hours together, there was plenty of time for the day to unfold naturally without everything feeling rushed.
The morning started in one of the resort cabins where everyone got ready together. One of my favorite things about cabin weddings in the Smokies is how relaxed the atmosphere feels. People are making breakfast, music is playing, bridesmaids are gathered around the windows doing makeup. It just feels less like a strict timeline and more like a meaningful weekend with your favorite people.
Their ceremony was emotional and intimate, with the Smoky Mountain winter landscape creating the prettiest backdrop. February weddings in East Tennessee have such an underrated softness to them. The mountains take on these muted blue and golden tones that photograph beautifully, especially when the light starts dipping lower in the afternoon!
After the ceremony, everyone gathered for the reception back at the resort where the night felt warm, joyful, and incredibly cozy. Between the candlelight, mountain atmosphere, and packed dance floor, it honestly felt like the perfect winter wedding celebration.
Why February Is Such an Underrated Time for a Smoky Mountain Wedding
I’ll forever defend winter weddings in the Smokies! February weddings at Parkside Resort come with so many advantages that couples often overlook. The crowds are smaller, the mountain views feel more open without dense foliage, and the softer winter light photographs beautifully all day long.
There’s also something incredibly romantic about gathering together in the mountains during winter. The cabins feel cozier, the atmosphere feels more intimate, and if you’re lucky, you may even get a dusting of snow in the higher elevations. For couples wanting a wedding that feels calm, intentional, and connected to the season, winter in the Smokies is hard to beat.
Sunset Bridals at Foothills Parkway
The best part of MaKayla and Austin’s wedding day (for me at least) was sneaking away for sunset bridals at Foothills Parkway! If you’re planning a Smoky Mountain wedding, building intentional portrait time into your timeline makes such a difference. Instead of squeezing portraits into random moments throughout the day, we were able to step away, slow down, and let them actually soak in being newly married together.
The views along Foothills Parkway are incredible year-round, but winter sunsets there feel especially cinematic. The layers of the mountains stretch endlessly into the distance, and during golden hour, everything takes on this soft glow that photographs beautifully. It’s one of my favorite locations for couples wanting epic Smoky Mountain wedding portraits without needing a long hike or complicated logistics.
Planning Tips for Your Parkside Resort Pigeon Forge Wedding
If you’re planning your own Parkside Resort wedding, here are a few things I always recommend:
Reserve guest cabins early, especially during peak wedding seasons
Build extra time into your timeline for portraits and travel around the resort
Plan ceremony timing around sunset for the best mountain light
Be prepared for changing Smoky Mountain weather
Consider a weekday wedding for better availability and a more relaxed experience
Hire vendors familiar with weddings in the Smokies and mountain timelines
Having a photographer who knows the area well can also make a huge difference when it comes to lighting, weather backup plans, and portrait locations nearby.
