Smoky Mountain Elopement At The Foothills

A quiet elopement in the Smoky Mountains is peak romance, and I was happy to serve as the Gatlinburg elopement photographer for this beautiful couple. Lush forests, misty peaks, and golden sunlight were the trademark for Sam and Amanda, and I can’t help but share these gorgeous photos with you.

Adventurers in the Smokies

Sam and Amanda have been close friends since, well, always. In fact, Sam said, “We’ve been close friends since we were born. We finally found each other 21 years later.” To spend time together, these two love hiking, fishing, and exploring the great outdoors together, and so it made sense for them to start their lives together right here in the Smoky Mountains.

Historic Sites for a Smoky Mountain Elopement

Another thing Sam and Amanda love to do is explore historic sites, and here in the Smokies, there’s no shortage of amazing places to tie the knot. For example, the Little Greenbrier School, which was originally built as a one-room schoolhouse in the 1880s, doubles as a charming chapel nestled in the woods. Rustic wooden benches and simple decor make it a great place to exchange vows.

But don’t stop there. The Primitive Baptist church in Cades Cove is another historic option, one that I’ve really loved! And there are even more out there, so make sure to do your research before you commit to a spot for your Smoky Mountain elopement.

Delicate Details at a Smoky Mountain Elopement

For Sam and Amanda, the perfect spot was right here in the open air, under a sweeping tree at sunset. I loved the little details Amanda brought to her wedding: the delicate lace of her open back gown, an intricate braid up-do, and this pearl flower crown. These two truly brought the romance for their elopement, and I’m so excited to see them start their lives together.
