Gatlinburg Sky Bridge Proposal
One of the little joys of being a Gatlinburg photographer is doing surprise proposals! I try to be so nonchalant until I finally get to photograph the biggest moment in a couple’s life together. What a privilege! Recently, Declan enlisted my help and I was able to go undercover at one of our city’s great adventures: SkyPark. But how did Megan respond to her Gatlinburg Sky Bridge proposal?
Planning a Gatlinburg Sky Bridge Proposal
When you spend all your time together, it’s hard to plan a surprise proposal! Declan and Megan met in high school and have been at college together. In the last five years, they’ve been inseparable!
Together, they usually bond during outdoor excursions. So, Declan planned this “getaway from work” to visit Gatlinburg. But Megan didn’t know he was carrying a little square-shaped secret in his jacket pocket the entire time.
Portraits on the Gatlinburg Sky Bridge
Megan definitely said yes! And her reaction to finding me as their photographer was so cute. Afterward, we did a bunch of posed portraits on and around the sky bridge. I loved playing with the shapes and lights on the bridge, they really brought a lot of character to these photos.
And the unique location has another meaning for this lovely couple. A bridge is the perfect place to propose, because it symbolizes the transition of two people crossing from a life alone to a life together. It’s really special to be a part of it.
Sharing a Surprise Gatlinburg Sky Bridge Proposal
A special moment I wasn’t expecting was capturing the FaceTime call Megan made to her parents as we were taking photos. What a special moment! I was glad I could snap their reaction. And I’m glad Megan and Declan have these photos of their special moment for her to share with their friends and family.
