Family Photo Outfits

As a Gatlinburg photographer, I do everything in my power to make sure your family pictures turn out beautifully! However, what you wear plays a big role in how your gallery will turn out. Achieving timeless family pictures requires family photo outfits that are coordinated and well-planned. Here are some of my favorite family photo outfits and tips.

Classic Bright & Airy

I don’t think this family photo outfit look will ever go out of style! Keep it bright and airy with white outfits. This is especially beautiful during the springtime when the greens are the brightest in the Smokies. It also looks great in wildflower fields! I love how this family (below) was all white, except for Mom. This really made her stand out in their maternity shoot.

Bright & Earthy

This is a new twist to the classic we mentioned above. Tie in some earthy tones to compliment white and creams. The family (below) did an excellent job adding cornflower blue, different shades of green and neutral creams int heir outfit color palettes. Everyones outfits flowed together naturally, while not being a copy and paste of one another.

Complimentary Colors

One of the best ways to add interest to any sort of design is to incorporate complementary colors. Complimentary colors are those that live on opposite sides of the color wheel. Typically, this means there is one color tone and one warm tone. Green and magenta, mustard yellow and plum, as well as my personal favorite, rust orange and blue.

Dressy Casual

Above all, I want you to be comfortable during your Gatlinburg family photos. So, if you want to dress up and make family pictures special, do so while keeping it casual. A dressy casual can look like whatever you want it to! The key is to be comfortable in something that isn’t your everyday wear. A collared shirt, sundress, overalls, and corduroy are just some ideas.

No matter what you wear for your family photo outfits, I know you will look great! Stay true to your personal style and keep it comfortable for everyone in your family.
