Foothills Parkway Elopement

I always ask my couples what they want their photos to make them feel when they look back on them. For Dartagnan and Tabatha, they wanted their deep, passionate love to shine through their photos. As well as to remember the joy felt on the day they began their journey as husband and wife together. I think we hit the nail on the head with these photos for their Foothills Parkway Elopement! As your Gatlinburg photographer, you know I had to share this session with you!

First Look

The Smokies have a lot going for them, but most often my couples are drawn to the landscapes and stunning natural beauty. Dartagnan and Tabatha have a strong connection to nature which is what drew them to the Smoky Mountains as their elopement destination. So every moment of their day was spent in the National Park, starting with their First Look.

The sheer joy on Dartagnan's face when Tabatha emerged from the lush greenery in her white dress was a testament to their love. He couldn't resist twirling her and watching her dress flow freely. Getting to capture first looks is always one of my favorites as a Gatlinburg photographer because of the tender feelings and excitement from my couples.

Ceremony at a Foothills Parkway Elopement

The silhouette of the mountains behind the couple always adds the Smoky Mountain charm to a ceremony. Which is why I love the Foothills Parkway for elopements, especially in the summer! There is plenty of shade, it is easy to access, and the views never disappoint.

There were many tears shed as Dartagnan and Tabatha shared their vows surrounded by their closest loved ones. It was such a sweet ceremony, and right after the couple embraced their family before I stole them away for portraits in the mountains.

Portraits in the Foothills

The Smokies are filled with plenty of great backdrops for portraits, and the Foothills have such a great variety in a small vicinity. We started in a shady overlook close to their ceremony location. Then we headed to one of my favorite bends in the road for some more Smoky vistas. And finally, we headed to a creek in the woods for more moody and romantic elopement photos.

Who could have believed that meeting in the gym one day would turn into a Foothills Parkway elopement? Life is so beautifully unexpected.
