Gatlinburg Elopement

As a Gatlinburg wedding photographer I love getting to be a part of any celebration! Capturing grand celebratory weddings, intimate ceremonies and everything in between. So when Hannah and Tanner reached out for me to help capture their Gatlinburg elopement I was over the moon! I loved getting to know this amazing couple, as well as finding ways to make their elopement one of a kind.

Hannah & Tanner

Every relationship is beautifully unique. And as a Gatlinburg wedding photographer I want to capture what makes your relationship special! Getting to know my couples before their session with questionnaires as well as chatting over the phone helps me to personalize shoots. When Hannah found me on Google she reached out and I was able to get to know her and Tanner before ever meeting them. And let me tell you, they are spectacular!

Hannah and Tanner met in college and started dating soon after. They describe their love story as learning to grow up together, while also learning to be selfless and open to one another. Because of this they have felt like they have been married for years already! So having a Gatlinburg elopement to make it official was perfect for this couple!

Gatlinburg Elopement

Hannah had mentioned how much she loved an image on my Instagram with a large oak tree, as well as how excited she was to adventure! So we started out our session in the woods at Greenbrier. I love Greenbrier because it is the perfect spot to explore with a river location, trails and lush woods. While there I had Hannah and Tanner climb up the large river rocks for bridal portraits. Doing this at the beginning of their elopement session gave us a lot of light to work with, which makes a huge difference while photographing in thick woods.

Afterwards we ventured over to Cades Cove, taking a road that cut the drive from 11 miles to only 2! I love Cades Cove for the stunning mountain backdrop, the open fields, and the small grove of trees. Because this location was so open, it was perfect for sunset photos for Hannah and Tanner’s Gatlinburg elopement. Although they are fun loving and goofy, Hannah really wanted to capture the more serious side of their relationship with a few dramatic images. It was so much fun to get to explore their relationship while posing and prompting!

Charcuterie Board & Picnic

Before our session together, Hannah mentioned that she would love to have something cute and comfy for them to sit down on during the session. And since there aren’t any churches or cabin in this area of the Smoky Mountains, we decided on a picnic! I made up a charcuterie board for the couple before hand, and brought everything they would need to enjoy a picnic during their session. This is something that I offer as an add on to make your elopement or engagement even more special! It serves as a great prop for pictures, but also creates an experience that will become lasting memories.
