Gatlinburg Summer Engagement Photos

We went on a journey out in the wilds of Cades Cove with Marley and Dylan for their romantic Gatlinburg summer engagements photos. It was a little bit country and a ton of fun! And as a Gatlinburg photographer, I was loving every second of it!

Cades Cove Location

For these summer engagement photos, we went out to Cades Cove, which is a little secluded valley within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As you can probably tell, this area was green, green, green! And with so many backdrops, we got a lot of variety for their gallery.

Cades Cove holds historic buildings and quite a few trailheads that you can wander on. From the old wooden fences to the shady creek, we explored a lot of different locations for this session, and I’m not exaggerating when I say they were all perfect.

Summer Engagement Photo Outfits

I have to say I love how this couple coordinated their engagement outfits. She wore a dress with that orange ombre, which seemed to complement his blue jeans in the best way. Dressy but not stuffy. They both stood out with their choice of bright colors.

What’s more down home country than wading through a creek? If it's an option for your location, definitely try barefoot wading. I love how effortless these shots felt between this couple, and it was a great way to introduce some creativity to this engagement session.

Fields and Wildflowers

There are so many amazing opportunities with open fields and wildflowers for your summer engagement photos! The colors are rich but the background enhances rather than distracts (which is what every Gatlinburg photographer is secretly hoping for). Fields feels wild and somehow homey at the same time, which can be just right for engagements.
