Great Smoky Mountain Wedding | Callie & Landon
If your dad tried to set you up with some guy from his work, would you actually go out with him? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Callie, and it ended up being the meet-cute that led to her finding her husband! I have loved getting to know Callie and Landon’s story, but even more so, I loved getting to capture their Great Smoky Mountain Wedding. If you are looking for a down-to-earth elopement with elegant touches, than this is the inspiration for you!
Callie & Landon
Tucked away in the heart of East Tennessee, Callie and Landon’s Great Smoky Mountain wedding was the perfect mix of cozy charm, emotional moments, and jaw-dropping scenery. With a private cabin as their venue, this couple celebrated their love surrounded by rolling mountains, warm wood tones, and the sweetest touches of faith and family. This was the perfect way to bring together their love for the outdoors, travel and each other!
Smoky Mountain Cabin
There’s something so special about getting married where you're staying. Especially when it’s a beautiful cabin with panoramic mountain views! Callie and Landon chose a private cabin near Gatlinburg for their wedding day, and it set the perfect tone: relaxed, personal, and surrounded by nature.
The bride got ready in a cozy wood-lined bathroom, the warm lighting and rustic details adding to the charm of her pre-ceremony moments. Just steps away, the back porch opened up to sweeping mountain views that became the backdrop for both the ceremony and portraits. The covered deck meant no worries about weather, just pure, uninterrupted love and celebration.
Getting Ready
Callie’s look was stunning! She wore a fitted gown with delicate lace detailing, sheer sides, and a dramatic train that flowed beautifully across the cabin’s wood floors. Her veil featured crystal-like beading along the edges, catching the light and adding a touch of sparkle to every step. She was an absolute dream!
One of my favorite parts of the morning was photographing her mom help her into her dress. It was one of those quiet, emotional moments that speaks volumes in photos. And the look on her friends and family’s faces when she stepped out? Pure joy.
Smoky Mountain Wedding First Look
One of the most heartfelt moments of the day was Callie and Landon’s first look. It was set against a misty backdrop on one of the covered porches. It was absolutely beautiful and when Landon’s face lit up the second he saw his bride, it made the moment even better. You could see it all, the nerves melting away, the deep joy, and that spark between them.
It was a private, quiet moment before the ceremony began that grounded Callie and Landon. I love first looks as an elopement photographer because it is a time for my couples to simply be together. And in true Smoky Mountain fashion, the surrounding trees and hazy skies created an almost cinematic atmosphere for it all.
Ceremony With A Mountain View
Under the protection of the cabin’s covered porch, Callie and Landon exchanged vows with the mountains as their witness. But what made this ceremony especially unique was the their unity ritual: the cord of three strands.
Displayed on a handcrafted wooden board with meaningful scripture, the couple braided the ropes together. It symbolizes their faith and bond with God at the center of their marriage. It was intimate, symbolic, and deeply personal.
Add in a few string lights, some greenery, and the soft sound of rain in the distance, and you’ve got the kind of ceremony that feels like a warm embrace!
Elopement Decor
One of the best things about having a cabin wedding in the Smoky Mountains is that you can do a lot more with the decor. While in the National Park you can’t set up any decor. However, when having your ceremony at a cabin you can add whatever decor you would like as long as it doesn’t violate your rental contract with the cabin’s owners.
For this Great Smoky Mountain wedding I especially loved the color palette! It felt like a perfect bridge between summer and fall, soft, romantic, and just bold enough to stand out against the natural tones of the cabin and forest. They kept their decor simple, which was perfect not only for their natural color palette, but also to frame the mountain landscape.
A Great Smoky Mountain Wedding to Remember
This wedding was everything a Great Smoky Mountain wedding should be. Deeply personal, full of love, and set in one of the most breathtaking places in the world. And as an elopement photographer, it was such an honor to capture!
