Rustic Gate Farm
There is a lot more than flowers to Rustic Gate Farm! Located in Friendsville TN, which is just about 30 minutes south of Knoxville. It is well worth the 30 minute drive for my friends in Knoxville, but I also think it is worth the drive from Gatlinburg. Because this is more than a photo location, it also serves as an experience for your family to bond with!
Rustic Gate Farm is a You Pick Flower Farm with affordable prices. Just $10 for a kids bouquet or jar, and $20 for adults. In addition, they offer seasonal veggies, canned produce, and even honey! And you can’t miss the chance to visit their farm animal friends, such as rabbits, goats and pigs.
FamilyWildflower Photos
Although I would capture any session type here (could you image bridals in the flowers?!), family pictures seem to be the most popular. As I mentioned above, this is truly an experience for your family! You will get to create a beautiful memory as I capture both posed and candid photos of this precious time in your life. As well, this is a wonderful location for little children with lots of wiggles. There is a lot of room to run and play as I capture mom and dad together, or if littles just need to run off some energy before our session starts!
When & Where
As a Gatlinburg photographer I have learned that the best time for wildflower photos is in July and August. The blooms are most vibrant and lush during this time. I suggest doing a session as soon as they open to beat the heat of the day, as well as to get there before any potential crowds. With that said, we were able to pull off wildflower photos this year in September.
