Gatlinburg Elopement Photographers #1 Tip To Having Beautiful Bridal

One of the best parts of wedding photography are the bridals we take! These special wedding portraits are all about capturing special details of your wedding, from the lace on your dress to the smile you share with your someone. As your Gatlinburg elopement photographer, here’s my #1 tip for having beautiful bridals: prepare ahead of time!

You might be surprised how often weddings end up crunched for time. And hurried bridals can really turn out…not as great. So, in order to get those amazing photos, we have to go all the way back to the beginning of your wedding day. Here are a few examples of things you should make sure to prepare!

Prepare For Extra Time

To capture beautiful bridals, start by planning extra time into your wedding day schedule. An extra five minutes for transportation to a lush ceremony site up in the Smokies, for example, can really save your day!

You’ll quickly find the “extra” time will become necessary time. Not only will a more lax event schedule save you some stress, but it also means a full bridal portrait session, with time for all the poses and backdrops you hope for.

Prepare for Commonly Forgotten Items

There are also a surprising amount of little things to prepare for on your big day. Some commonly forgotten items are details for flatlay pictures, personal accessories (like veil clips and cufflinks), and rings. And surprise! We’ll need all of these things for your bridal portraits.

If you’re nervous about forgetting something, assign people in your wedding party to be in charge of remembering specific items! Two brains are better than one. And if you are having a true elopement with just the two of you, create a list to keep you on track! Get those amazing Gatlinburg wedding photos by laying out what you need ahead of time.

Prepare Hair and Makeup Early

The last thing to prepare ahead of time is your hair and makeup. Hair and makeup nearly always takes longer than we expect it to! Start these appointments earlier rather than later.

If your hair and makeup is done early, we can shoot more getting-ready photos with you, or we may be able to sneak in some bridals earlier in the morning. Either way, you’re really not going to regret feeling like you’re “ready” first thing!

Trust me: preparing is the number one thing you can do for your bridals! You’ll feel confident, stress-free, and you’ll have all the pieces you need to create your dream photos.
