Grandparents Photoshoot Poses

One of the best ways to make the most of your fall family photos is to invite your extended family to join you! There are so many beautiful and sentimental moments that you will get when you invite more of your loved one to be with you. While photographing your extended family, I will break you into groups for a variety of images in your gallery. And one of my favorites has to be a grandparents photoshoot! Capturing the special bond between grandparents and their grandchildren is a must when you have everyone together! Here are some of the best poses to capture those sweet relationships.

Why A Grandparents Photoshoot?

Why not?! Grandparents give so much of their love to their children and grandchildren to create lasting relationships and memories. Having photos to document those relationships will mean so much to your children later in their life when their grandparents are no longer here. In addition, these photos will make such meaningful gifts to the grandparents now! After all, who wouldn’t want more photos of their precious grandchildren?!

Entire Family

One of the most important shots to get is one with everyone together. This can done in a number of different poses. For example, this family (below) has each family of creation grouped together with space in between. I also love to have the entire family stand close, and lean into each other for a really cozy pose! Some families will hold hands and pose or walk through a field. Every family is different, so I will work with you to create the most comfortable shot for you!

Individuals With Grandparents

Something I have found to be true while working with extended families as a Gatlinburg photographer is that every grandchild has a unique relationship with their grandparents. And with that, I want to capture those one-of-a-kind bonds with individual pictures. For smaller children and babies, I love to have the grandparents pick up the child if they are able. Snuggling together and laughing at jokes and stories! For older children, teens and adult grandchildren leaning in and hugging their grandparents is a great way to document their closeness!

All The Grandkids

In addition to taking photos as an entire family and as individuals, having a few shots of all the grandkids with the grandparents is wonderful. These are very popular with grandparents, as all their favorite children are in one photos all together! We could also divide it up by gender with all the girls posing with grandma and all the boys with grandpa. There are so many various options we can try!
