How To Plan A Smoky Mountain Date Night
Whether you are celebrating your anniversary, or just trying to escape into the mountains for a romantic get away. Take the time to plan a Smoky Mountain date night! And what better date than one that is accompanied with images documenting your love?! As a Gatlinburg photographer, I love being part of your date night, capturing your story and giving the best recommendations for local cuisine and attractions. Here is where to begin when planning your mountainous date night!
Dates & Times
Have a general idea of when you want to take your Smoky Mountain date night. Maybe you know you want it to be in June, but are flexible on what weeknights or weekends will work. Or perhaps, you have specific dates through a season that you can work with. By having multiple dates in mind, you will be able to adjust to the availability of lodging, restaurant reservations and your photographers schedule.
Smoky Mountain Photographers
Next, find your Smoky Mountain photographer! You can search hashtags on Instagram, look through Pinterest, or turn to Google. Find a photographer whose style of work you love and feel confident in their portfolio and experience. Then talk about beautiful locations, availability, and of course ask for their recommendations in the area!
Location & Reservation
Once you have decided on your photo location with your photographer, the next step to plan a Smoky Mountain date night is to book your reservations. If you are coming from out of town and making a weekend out of it, then consider lodging in addition to restaurants and other fun activities. But, if you are planning of having a quick trip into the mountains, then focus on the local attractions. Either way, ask your photographer for local recommendations for the best Smoky Mountain experience!
What are my recommendations? A well loved restaurant is Trail Head Steak & Trout House. With their mission being “to provide a world-class experience through our legendary steak and trout”, you know they are committed to giving you only the best experience and cuisine. My personal favorite is Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro. This restaurant is tucked into the woods with twinkle lights illuminating the space to add a whimsical feel. In addition, they have a giant fire pit with complimentary s’mores, as well as specialty cocktails and steak that cuts without a knife!
Outfits
The last step to plan a Smoky Mountain date night is getting your outfits together. Consider the overall look you are wanting to achieve in your photos, and ask your photographer for any advice or tips on what photographs best. Remember to wear something that is uniquely you and is comfortable to move around in.
Wendy & Aaron
After 23 years of joys and trials, Wendy and Aaron decided to take a little trip into the Smokies for their anniversary pictures in addition to a Smoky Mountain date night. They wanted both river and mountain views. So, we ended up going to Cades Cove! As a Gatlinburg Photographer I have become an expert in the area and know some of the best “off the beaten path” locations for photos. On our way into Cades Cover we stopped at this really great river spot and snapped a few shots before going further into the mountains.
Capturing candid and authentic love, like Wendy and Aaron’s, is what I can’t get enough of! Are you ready for your Smoky Mountain date night? Reach out and let’s plan it together!
