Smoky Mountain Fall Engagement Photos

Fall engagement photos in the Smoky Mountains may just be my favorite! From the colorful backdrops to the cool breezes that invites snuggly posing. You will absolutely adore your experience and the images you receive after. Even in early November we were able to capture the vivid fall colors for Lindy and Skylar’s engagement photos, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Lindy & Skyler

The best part of having an engagement session before your elopement, or wedding, is getting to know your photographer. Being able to connect and feel comfortable with each other is key to capturing genuine moments. And that is exactly what Lindy was looking for when she found me! Lindy mentioned that although she loved my photography for the posing, lighting and location. She really wanted to find a photographer that she could connect with and trust for her future elopement. Which made getting to know and love this couple so simple!

Lindy and Skyler have been engaged for less than a year, but have been together for over a decade! They are best friends and have the sweetest relationship, joking around and taking it easy. It all started when they met at a local festival through mutual friends. As Lindy was on her way home with her best friend she told her, “I’m going to marry that boy someday”. And here they are, engaged to be married a decade later!

Smoky Mountain Engagement Photos

As a Smoky Mountain wedding photographer I have come to learn the best spots in the park for your fall engagement photos. Capturing the hues of fall, the depth of the mountains, and the warm lighting of autumn. After years of photographing couples in the Smokies I am confident in documenting your love story in some of the best hidden gems of this National Park.

Engagement Poses

In addition to knowing the best locations for your Smoky Mountain engagement photos, I also work with each of my couples to photograph their love story in the most authentic way possible. Lindy and Skyler are down to earth and love being in nature. However, before our shoot together Lindy shared that they are both a little nervous in front of the camera.

So many couples feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, and that is okay! As your photographer it is my job to break the ice with prompts to create special moments. Here are some of my favorite prompts to get genuine and candid moments.

  • Think about the first time you guys said I love you… who said it first??

  • I always ask my couples how they met.

  • For certain poses I may say whisper in her ear, tell her your favorite thing about her.

  • Rest your heads together and take in the view, envision your future.

But it’s not all serious, we always end up joking around! Sharing embarrassing moments of each other or talking about our current Netflix binge. I always try to make my couple sessions both romantic & fun. Which was perfect for Lindy and Skyler as they wanted deep soulful images, but also loved to joke around with each other!

Lindy and Skyler wanted to see themselves as art. In a beautiful setting, with great lighting, and ultimately something they couldn’t create on their own. It was a truly magical Smoky Mountain fall engagement session!
