Smoky Mountain Family Photographers Guide To Extended Family Photos
There are many Smoky Mountain family photographers out there. However, the experience I provide is like none other! Creating candid moments with large extended families can be difficult, but that is what I am here for! Here is my guide to bringing your entire family together for stunning Smoky Mountain family photos.
Focus On The Kids
With extended family photos in the Smoky Mountains, our greatest challenge is always the little ones! They tend to have a shorter attention span, getting bored and uninterested quickly. For every one of my sessions I send out a questionnaire to get to know you and your family. There, I ask a bit about your children’s ages and how I can connect with them. As a result, I come prepared to engage with your children and keep them focussed on the camera!
In addition to getting to know your family, I work with the circumstances. For example, Margaret’s extended family session had a lot of children under the age of three. We opted for more candid moments with prompts, rather than formal posed pictures. And the results speak for themselves! Every image holds emotion and sentiment to this tender season of life.
Smoky Mountains
Most Smoky Mountain family photographers will agree with me when I say, this is the best place to photograph your family! From the scenic backdrops to the variety of locations. No matter what you are looking for, you will find it in the Smokies!
For this Smoky Mountain extended family session we chose a location that was easy for every one to access. This field was right off of an exit and absolutely stunning. With the mountains in the far distance and the full the tree line created depth for the images. And the wide open field was the best spot for this family to enjoy each other and play with their little ones!
Enjoy Each Other
The best piece of advice I can give any one when it comes to their family photos is to simply enjoy! When I asked Margaret what she wanted to remember when she looked back on these photos in 20 years from now her answer was so sweet. She said “How we took time to get together as a family and enjoy each other’s company”. That is what family photos are all about! Getting together, enjoying each other and capturing your unique love for one another.
Although many families come to me like Margaret, just wanting one good photo of the entire family, I promise so much more to my clients! I am here to create moments that will spark your memory every time you look back at your family photos. Are you ready to book a Smoky Mountain family session? Reach out, I can’t wait to get to know you!
