Waterfall Elopement In The Smoky Mountains

Here in our lovely Smoky Mountains, a waterfall elopement is waiting for you and your loved one! Elopements are always a wonderful experience for me as a Gatlinburg wedding photographer. Read on to find out why a waterfall elopement is the next big trend—and check out these beautiful pics of Heaven and Bryan along the way.

A Waterfall Elopement is Great in Any Season

A misconception people may have about waterfall elopements is they’re limited to spring and summer weddings. Not so, my friends! A waterfall elopement can be the stuff of dreams in fall or winter, too. Even frozen, the romance of a natural waterfall can’t be beat.

So Many Amazing Falls to Choose

If you choose to elope at a waterfall in the Smokies, you’ll have no shortage of options. Grotto Falls, Cataract Falls, Laurel Falls, Baskins Creek, The Place of a Thousand Drips…the list goes on! Each has a unique look. There are so few places in the world with the kind of opportunity to reach vistas like we enjoy here near the mountains, so really take advantage of it.

Easy Hikes, or Big Adventures

Don’t stress if you’re not hoping for a big hike on your wedding day; so many of these waterfalls are short walks up, and some have packed or paved paths for accessibility. That being said, many couples want their elopement to be a full-on adventure with their loved ones.

If that sounds like you, remember to bring quality footwear, water, and a backpack to carry your flowers, vows and anything else you’ll need to freshen up before the ceremony. And don’t forget your officiant and photographer! If you want to literally take a hike, this Gatlinburg photographer is up to the challenge.

Beautiful Pictures for your Elopement

Most of all, the results of a waterfall elopement are stunning, vibrant, and whimsical wedding photos like these. I loved the simplicity of this session at Cataract Falls with Heaven and Bryan. Does it get better than this? Waterfalls are symbols of power, grace, and the result of time—and it feels like there’s no better place to start your lives together.

Don’t wait to start planning your waterfall elopement here in the Smoky Mountains. And, don’t forget to bring me along for the ride! I’d love to preserve your one-of-a-kind elopement memories as your Gatlinburg wedding photographer. Reach me here!
